Vinyl. Records & Covers by Artists
SOUND COLLECTION GUY SCHRAENEN
The Sound Collection Guy Schraenen was part of the Archive for Small Press & Publication, which was brought together and curated by Guy Schraenen and Anne Marsily from 1974 on. It is the internationally most important and comprehensive collection of sound art dedicated to the interweaving of visual and acoustic works in the field of visual arts. Vinyl records by artists are the main focus, but numerous other sound carriers as well as graphics and a library complete the collection. On its basis, Guy Schraenen organized numerous exhibitions, events and radio broadcasts on audio experiments by poets and visual artists but also by pioneering musicians.
In early 2018, it was acquired by the Centre for Artists' Publications. They set up a website with more than two hundred audio examples of this collection including information on the works and biographies of the artists can be found on this Website: Sound Collection Guy Schraenen.
